Reeth and Grinton Community First Responders

Reeth and the Two Dales area is clearly attractive to most people due partly to its remote location. This can of course pose its own problems when an emergency medical response is required.
When someone calls 999 for an ambulance, Reeth & Grinton First Responders may be contacted by the Ambulance Service, asking them to attend medical emergencies in our local community, providing aid until the ambulance arrives.
Vital life saving and life preserving skills and equipment are available through this invaluable local service which is provided by a dedicated group of well trained volunteers.

Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team (SMRT)

SMRT is a registered charity (Charity Commission No. 501885) which provides a mountain and cave rescue service within the Swaledale and Wensleydale areas of North Yorkshire.  The team is made up of a group of highly trained volunteers who are available to be called out for a variety of land based search and rescue operations, any time day or night.  SMRT provide a 24 hours per day, 365 days per year service.
Contact: In an emergency call 999 and ask for Police and Mountain or Cave Rescue.
